Inside the minds of changemakers. Meet Lynn - Media revolutionary.

Meet Lynn Anderson Clark - Founder & CEO of one of our favourite news sources, The Know.

The Know is an independent media company on a mission to help everyone start their day feeling informed and hopeful. Our daily newsletter always features the day’s top stories broken down without jargon, uplifting news and hand-picked recs we think you’ll love.

In one sentence, tell us why you started The Know…

I started The Know to re-engage women in the news and prove that media can be both informative and hopeful.

How did you find the confidence to start…

I took a leap of faith!  I started The Know when I was about 6 months pregnant.  Some could call it confidence, some could call it naivety, but I am thankful I did it.

What’s been the moment in your business you’re most grateful for?

I’ve been grateful for an incredible group of female mentors around me that have helped The Know grow every step of the way.  People truly believe in our mission and have been so kind with their time, advice and resources to see us flourish.

What’s your daily non-negotiable that you do to tend to your mindset?

Work is hectic and I’m often out at meetings but putting my son to bed at night is the thing in my routine I don’t compromise on.  Reading Brown Bear for the 15,000th time is my meditation.

What does confidence mean to you?

Confidence is about knowing who you are without pushing it on someone else.

What everyday item brings you joy?

I love my cup of brown rice green tea in the morning.  Some would say it’s an acquired taste, but it makes me very happy.

Who’s your everyday hero?

Educators who go the extra mile.  These are the people shaping young minds and hearts - we should cherish them.

What's your go-to mantra for when you have to do something difficult?

I can do hard things!

What’s You can do hard things!your favourite Clementine session and why?

Deep Sleep and Relax Your Mind - It’s hard for me to wind down at night.  I’m sure a lot of women can relate to this!  I’m always thinking that there is more I can do for my son, The Know, my friends and family… the list goes on.  The session helps me get out of my head and into the right mindset for restful sleep.

Lastly, do you have a mantra, affirmation or special word that you use when you are feeling like you need a bit of guidance?

Nothing grows in your comfort zone…
